Philippe Hiquily<\/strong> liked to explore the shapes of women and flirt with their natural sensuality. His metal work, muscled in the hammering of iron sheets, very deman- ding in the layout of the balance, carnal in the drawing of the anatomy but tender and lascivious in the final polish of the volumes, from the iron or steel sheets would emerge utterly charming compositions full of poetry and humor.<\/p>\n

Initially conceived in 1981 as a 6-meter-high monu- mental sculpture, Marathonienne, (Marathoner)<\/strong> has now become one of Philippe Hiquily\u2019s most iconic sculptures. At the Centre of many cultural events in Europe and all over the world and revealed to a wide audience thanks to the American television seriesBillons, she impresses us by the softness of her curves and the eroticism of her figure that contrasts with the rigor of her composition<\/strong> (the perfect geometry of a circle divided in 3 angles of 120\u00b0on a central axis). This modern sports woman immortalized in an ultimate moment of grace, both strong and untameable, is rendered vulnerable by the stolen moment in which she seems suspended. Generally presented in monumental formats, the marathon runner has found it\u2019s way into a small format for the Art For All collection<\/strong>, thus proving again that the grace of her shapes has no limits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
