« Angel Bear is a totem, a message to alert all men. »
A few years ago shaken by the photography of a polar bear drifting on an iceberg, destined to certain death, Richard Texier imagines Angel Bear a hybrid and bionic winged bear. This mystical animal over 7 meters high, of whom the existence is threatened by global warming, relates to our world in constant evolution but also offers a symbolic echo to our childhood companion. When the artist placed him on his majestic pedestal at the entrance of the Gare du Nord, the most important train station in Paris that sees 700000 people commute daily, the bear traps the attention of the travellers and delivers his silent message on the fragility of the world and climate change. Adorning him of a red skin accentuates even more his alert message and the danger it expresses underlines the nature of his being, that is like that of men, both powerful and fragile. Texier’s ultimate dream is that this work may find it’s on way amidst the human community.

« A great part of my work is the historical reconstruc- tion of my childhood. In Argentina, when I was younger, during the war all the toys that use to come from Japan and Europe disappeared and people started to invent wooden painted toys to sell them on the market. Bet- ween 1965 and 1968 I prepared an exhibition for the Jean Boucher and Claude Bernard galleries with works that were more or less a sort of reproduction of all those folkloric toys ». With these figures that bare plain features strolling amidst the centres of large cities Antonio Seguí de- picts with humour the comedy of life Naturally I like to inspect the individual’s inner side, understand his conflicts, show his joys he says.
If part of the elements he offers in his works is linked to his own story (such as the man always wearing a hat, a common Male sign in all social classes in Argentina), it is more important for him to leave the viewers the care of building their own story. The modern manhe depicts with pleasure and irony, in a rush and very urban, escapes from the day-to-day life by baring bright colors in his quest of happiness and humanness.

Universal symbol of life and the feeling of love in popular culture, the heart possesses a unique visual and emotional strength. In the series Feux de l’amour (Fires of Love), Claude Gili uses its design and shape to create compositions with perspective, that are shiny and smooth, and with vivid colors. Playing on words, playing with light, playing with materials. Alive and vibrant his cut-out hearts induce a notion of depth in the pictural space, that is reinforced by the light of the flames that come to caress them. In Amour fou, (Crazy love) the hearts multiply and ignite, proving once more, that even if he faced difficulties his whole life, Gilli never stoped creating with a lot of magic in an imperishable quest of an ideal of happiness.

The wildlife and the animal kingdom have always been choice subjects for Mauro Corda. To him the years 2000 have been an opportunity to perceive them as beings in mutation (The Criket, 2013; Turtle-shark, 2017), since they are today submitted to great ecological and climatical crises due to Mankind. This interrogation on the undermining of the animal kingdom due man’s actions and the enormous disappearances of species is clearly portrayed in this 2018 work, Meerkat.
These three “desert sentinels”, in alert, find themselves stuck and coated in oil that is leaking from a barrel, as if forever stuck in time. This milestone work of art adapted for the “Art For All” collection reminds us of all the major stakes that tomorrow’s humanity will have to answer to: bioethics and our common responsibility in the preservation of the planet.

“Comics is an art of the future”
The life and work of Philippe Druillet has always been guided by this conviction. His revolutionary compositions characterised by an edgy stroke are filled with obscene anti-heros, pitiless space warriors and deformed fantastic creatures in never ending galactic and gothic architectures. Immensely creative theses beings of obscure and abyssal worlds he gave birth to, have found a way into any material support within in his reach, comic strips, film posters but also paintings, furniture, sculptures or 3D animation.
At the end of the 1970’s, he makes a little sculpture of a warrior, cold and stiff in his metal armour, ready to awake from a millennial sleep and charge into battle. His name is ITAÏ, still guardian of time, who watches us in silence with his piercing eyes. His silhouette reminds us of VUZZ, a cynical and mad adventurer that is now petrified in his metal mausoleum. Esthetized by pure curves, the reckless is ennobled. Freed of his flesh he becomes impenetrable, inscrutable and mystical, like a god of a forgotten religion, a fetish, a totem, or an emblem.

Three capsules rendezvous and associate in an astonishing ballet. Smooth and silky skin, shimmering colors, shapely shapes …
In the Art For All piece, Philippe Huart presents a small format edition of three pills in painted metal. With the “red and white” edition of the “Side effects” series, his idea is to work on duotone and variations in space. These interlocked pills can be presented under different angles. Here the artworks gives itself the possibility to be viewed under multiple and plural dimensions, an aspect that corresponds exactly to the Art For All collection. Whilst reading the subtitle “passionate love”, love in all its forms obviously comes to mind: passion and jealousy, happiness and madness, violence and life are crystallized in the deepness of red, counterbalancing it, the purity and clarity of white that absorbs and reflects, reinforces the esthetics of what has become and object of desire.
